I would like to update this request to advise it was fixed by Astrill.
Based on the response from their support there was no issues on their end and recommended that I reconnect and login again to the Astrill VPN application, sure enough this fixed my issue.
It is strange that this fixed my issue as during the week of experiencing this issue I have been logging in and out of the Astrill VPN app multiple times per day troubleshooting and testing this issue, but nonetheless happy it is resolved.
It seems everybody is talking about this except Astrill. I opened a ticket with them, but all I got was they know there’s a problem and it’s being looked into. They have been mute ever since.
I have a sneaking suspicion that astrill is not doing very well. They havent updated the client in over a year and a cropping up of other issues that I’ve seen like the problems that you mentioned. With the Foreigner Exodus in China I would imagine that they need to downsize a bit.
It was fixed for you, but is hasn’t been fixed for me and my colleagues in China behind the Great Firewall. All but one of the servers on openVPN are gone. You have more available in stealth, but bandwidth isn’t very good.
