I’m overall just confused about the whole VPN thing in Desktop mode. I’ve seen instructions that have me doing some bizarre command-line things… is there a simple solution?
I followed this video today and it worked liked a charm. Im currently connected on my steam deck through express vnp.
I’m courious, why would you use a VPN in the first place?

I can suggest installing vpn on your router as a more general solution, then you can set it up so that only selected devices traffic (including Steamdeck if you want it to) will go via vpn.
Beautiful I’ll check it out thanks!
Security, or access servers not in your region, either a game, or say, Netflix in one country has a movie you want to watch, but it’s not in yours.
It’s becoming my daily PC which means I access client files a lot. Last thing I need is to get hacked because I clicked a bad link and have to tell everyone they may be compromised.
Just a heads up, when the vpn is on the switch thinks it’s losing internet but you never actually lose connection. I’ve been able to maintain a steady connection with any game I play online.
It’s smart to setup a VPN on your SD, but a VPN will not help you if you clicked on a bad link
A VPN won’t protect you if you click a bad link bro
The only way a vpn would add security is for public wifi if a malicious actor is using that public wifi. You will still be just as vulnerable for online activity.
