I just tried hola vpn today but it did not work because my schools firewall was blocking it, if anyone knows about a vpn that can prevent this issue that would be great

Nonsense. SigaVPN is awesome. I’ve used it since they’ve started and over a year ago it’s only gotten better.

i would never trust a free VPN, although your experience might me good that doesn’t mean you’re privacy is safe as well. How do they make their money? Running a VPN service is costly and if it’s for free it means that you’re the product. Not a thing you should want if you’re using that service for increasing privacy.

I know the guy that made it, runs it and maintains it and is a privacy advocate. I have no concerns about my privacy. If you do, you can read through r/sigavpn for some education. He has no staff and does no marketing so the expenses are completely paid through donations. He believes in what he does and so does everyone who funds and uses it like myself.

Ok, that changes the story obviously. I stick to my believe that in general free VPN services cannot be trusted. But seeing the information you provided makes him the exception to the rule (don’t know if this is correct in English?) I guess.
