BIG-IP Edge CLient F5HiddenDialerWindow preventing shutdown (Windows 10)

Users on our network see this screen every time they shut down and it causes lots of problems including:

  • Incomplete shutdowns
  • Network connectivity issues
  • Applications not functioning correctly in the morning
  • Trouble waking the computer from sleep
  • unresponsive when pressing the power button

Signs that an incomplete shutdown has occurred:

  • Skipping the manufacturer logo on bootup
  • Loading straight to the login screen after a shutdown
  • Apps in the System Tray disappear when hovering over them (specifically in the popup menu when you click Show hidden icons)

Any advice or a fix would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Poor grammar

The only previous mention of this issue on the web that I could find:
https://community.f5.com/t5/technical-forum/crl-check-and-application-error-shutdown/td-p/89671

Having the same issues…

Can you replicate it or is it intermittent? All users or some? Did it just start? Are they disconnecting from the VPN first before shutting down?

Try reinstalling the client, upgrading the client would be 2 of the things I’d test out first.

After rolling out an update to build 7221,2022,412,1126 this error message no longer comes up, and we have seen a vast reduction number of calls that come in with those symptoms.
This issue still impacts users who are not shutting down their computers correctly, but it is no longer caused by the VPN client. The last step is to educate our users… *sigh*
Thanks for reaching out!
