Can I set DNS on Opera Mobile (Android)?

Yes, I know and I’ve tried (or maybe there are a few things I’ve missed). I’ve seen settings that talk about DNS, but the problem is this: whatever setting I use, my DNS server/service tells me that I’m using Opera Norway AC as my resolver. Then I take a look at dnscheck.tools and notice this.

It seems that Opera is very sensitive to security so it does its best this way, or …

[Android 11,
Opera 85.5.4500.xxx,
VPN OFF,
Data saving and trackers and pubs blocker ON]

With data saving on, your traffic go through Opera server to reduce the size, so DNS settings can’t be fully controlled.

Thanks for answering. When I disable saving data I don’t have Opera Norway AC among my DNS.

I don’t know a lot about networks, I wonder how using your servers as resolvers can save data.

Perhaps ISPs also charge for each URL resolved by their servers.

With data saving, the Opera server downloads the full webpage then takes out non-vital items and re-compressed some of the content with lower quality before sending to your device. It’s not really about the resolvers.
