Can Opera access Google Account?

Hi. I want to use Opera (VPN) browser app on Android. When I use Opera VPN (Incognito, HTTP/S, without logging into any account in Opera app), can Opera access and collect data from the Google account I am logged into to use the phone (for Android: Settings > Personalization > Google OR Settings > Accounts > Google) and the Gmail I am logged into? Can Opera access e-mails outside the Opera application? Thanks.

Nah, the free tier only covers the Opera browser’s traffic. The paid tier does cover all apps traffic, but on itself it can’t read what’s traveling since pretty much everything use HTTPS nowadays. The Opera app can’t get your Google account identity unless you specifically allow it when asked, and it would be listed in https://myaccount.google.com/connections

No. I don’t think so.

Ohh okay, thank you.

What about Gmail (or messaging, note-taking, etc. apps)? I have not allowed Opera to access Gmail (or any application), but when we want to share a link within the Opera application (long-pressing on the link we want to share and selecting the Share Link option in the menu that appears), it can list/access many other applications. This also stuck in my mind.

Thanks for the answer.

Nah that’s fine, share menu is one way, the initiator app only sees what is being shared (because they’re the one who generate it) and what app is selected (not all that is listed), but even that part is normally not used, most app doesn’t care what you’re doing.

I was trying to understand the system behind it. Thank you for taking time to answer my question.
