Can't install Mullvad

I apologize in advance if I happen to offend anyone because of my ignorance and frustration.

I can’t install the mullvad-vpn package with the ‘helper’ program, or with the ‘git clone’ and ‘makepkg -si’ thing. I’m a total beginner with this OS, I really hope I don’t offend anyone when I say this but it’s been over a month since I’ve popped this in a virtual machine and barely anything works.

I’m sorry if this is a waste of your time. After about a month of fumbling in the dark… well… I’m lost, and really dumb.

Run gpg --recv-keys <key> for each of those two public keys (the shorter ones, like 78CEAA8CB72E4467). If they both import, try makepkg again. If not, show the error from gpg

While it’s not directly related to this issue, you might be interested in using vopono to be run only specific applications through it (or different servers) - I’m a fellow Mullvad user.

Well, again, as a total beginner, I get lost and confused just browsing the wiki. That’s why the disclaimer: I don’t want to offend anyone when they tell me to read the wiki when I just can’t even understand to process what I’m reading. Whether it’s because of the false consensus effect, or I’m just really dumb and slow.

So I checked the link, and I’m supposed to do a thing about PKGBUILD and keys, and download them?

I spent 3 days trying to find out what I needed to download (and a whole day learning how to download stuff, period.) I’ll try rifling through and hopefully I can figure something out.

I’ll note that down and give it a go, thanks man. Got a lot of stuff going on in my life rn.

Adding this for others in the future, I had the same problem and this fixed it, so thanks!

I did that and it gave me the error “No data”

It makes it easier to change between different locations and servers just by selecting it (rather than having to import a new wg profile each time) and provides a single network interface for all of them (wg-mullvad) that I can bind qBittorrent to

Yeah I read that you can do the VPN through like OpenVPN and that, I’m just an overwhelmed beginner who doesn’t even know what these things are, hah. Well, in life. I might take a look at that if nothing else works. Thanks man.

Alright, sounds like something I might check out next on the list, but we’ll see if I can even figure that out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yay is actively maintained. I don’t know where this misunderstanding originated. The last commit was two weeks ago. DT is no valid source ffs.

The key has likely changed since this original post was made. Grab the ones listed in the validpgpkeys in the current PKGBUILD

Not sure what this was about, I guess yay or something. I’m just gonna chunk through the problem slowly and see if something works. Thanks.

I managed to solve it in the end, now i have a new problem: the pc doesnt wake up from suspension, only with a reboot

Edit: I ditched the entire thing and just reinstalled arch:joy: (fortunately I’ve separated partitions so I only needed to install some minor packages since their executables were stored in the root partition :joy:)
