Does anyone here use Mudfish (VPN)?

I’ve been using it for a few days and it’s been working great. Does anyone have any specific node configurations that work well (I’m still using the default one).

The node speed varies according to the time and location. Just leave it on automatic so that mudfish can decide which one is best.

If you wish to test the difference between basic, advanced and whatnot, just connect with the ones you want to test and ping the game website on cmd (or terminal) to see which one is working better for you.

Get a dedicated browser like Vivaldi for GBF and use the mudfish extension. I usually use Tokyo Google but I switch around when it goes slow.

Just curious, why does the gbf community use this vpn in particular? I hear it come up a lot.

I plan to find either different vpn service or to change approach to this, maybe VPS, not sure yet.

Mudfish works fin until node starts to lose packets like crazy, so it’s very unreliable to me. Maybe it is my bad luck in having to use only this particular “bad” nodes, but only they can make a difference for me.

Pretty much everyone who wants to race outside of Japan uses it, still doesn’t level the playing field but it helps lol

How do you use this? Any proper setup guides? I am thinking of getting it too

i’m not too informed on this topic, but don’t VPNs reduce your speed?

I see, thank you very much for this, didn’t know this

Because afaik, it’s the cheapest. Wtfast is a similar service and looking at their prices, it’s 8.33 usd a month (after subscribing for a year, normally 9.99 a month) while players using mudfish cite maybe 5.00 usd a year with an absolute ceiling of 9.60 usd a year. And the difference in speed is extremely noticable (at least for me) and I notice immediately if it’s turned off.

I used to use it for a different game, but it lets you pay by data usage which if its the same still, gbf should not use much of making it very cheap.

It’s incredible value for what you need to play GBF, compared to other services.

I’ve topped up $10 a while back and used it for two GWs, and I think I’ve used about 5 cents since then.

It is a “tunneling VPN” that is set up to take your traffic from a nearby center and then direct it onto the fastest route to a far-away location.

The routing used by normal internet services is often very convoluted and roundabout, sometimes going to entirely unnecessary continents in extreme cases.

My understanding is that it helps with the ping - since the servers are based in JP, it sends your connection directly to JP so it makes u load things faster

cheap (by data usage) and decent, its good for mmorpg as well

The people who want to go really fast use virtual machines in Japan. It’s much more expensive though but it lets you go just as fast as players in Tokyo.

its pretty easy, just download it and load 2 dollars of credit into it and use it for a month - they have their own default configurations so just pick the gbf config and then you’re good to go

Quick question. Is this “allowed” by the TOS (I know technically they can ban for any/no reason).

The ISP pretty much always picks the cheapest route instead of the fastest. If the infrastructure is good through out this can be barely noticed but more often than not it’s lacking on the way

At that point, question if the game is worth such an investment lol.
