Okay, so I’ve been using a vpn a lot lately, and when it’s active, ff just keeps loading and ‘checking my connection’ and I could click on the ‘I’m human button’ a hundred times and it just doesnt. make. a. difference.
But when I disconnect, let it load, and then reconnect, it has no problems. Or, well, almost no problems, because after what seems a random amount of chapters, it’s the same thing.
Does anyone else experience this as well?
I think cloudflare might block known VPN IPs because I have the same issue with some VPN locations but not others. However, I can’t access FFN (or any site that uses cloudflare to that amount) on a few browsers irrespective of VPNs either. I have to switch to Chrome to get it to work, which is a browser I don’t normally use.
Edit: Sorry, just realised the age of this post. I’m used to more active subs and didn’t realise I was so far back.
They do that because have been getting their IP addresses banned for harassment and other realllly bad stuff. So, they’re trying to block VPN’s altogether to prevent those people from coming back after getting banned.
Obfuscated vpn seems to work if your vpn service supports it. I’m on nord.
I actually had trouble with that without a vpn as well. Very annoying.
I got AVG Secure VPN and Fanfiction works okay for me.
But even when I surf normally, without a vpn, I still get the cloudfare thing. it’s extremely irritating.
I use bitdefender’s vpn, because then I get anti-virus and vpn in one neat little package and it’s far cheaper than nord vpn.
It’s still annoying though, like you said. 100% agreed there.
Yeah, I have the same with a few browsers (Firefox, Vivaldi, and sometimes Edge), that’s why I have to swap to Chrome.
