I just purchased the latest model of the Fire Stick 4K Max (16MB storage version). Surfshark is causing a problem causing overheating of the firestick. The last two sessions with firestick running for about 1.5 - 2 hours results in a non-operative firestick and a thermometer Icon displayed on TV screen. Firestick is powered by the provided USB power supply. The firestick is connected to HDMI port using the provided HDMI extender and is in free space, touching nothing. A second issue is related to loosing Home Theater sound when running Surfshark for a short period of time. There is no sound after Surfshark is disconnected. The Alexa Home Theater reverts to local SSID and is no longer connected to Firestick provided SSID network. Power reset is required to restart Firestick.
I have same stick and vpn…surfshark isn’t heating your device.
I set one up this morning ing…over a 3 hour period…constantly clicking and installing…no issues.
I watch 3 movies on Saturday (rain day)…played perfectly.
Give your device some more room to breathe
it is advised to plug it into a wall not a usb socket, sounds like power issues caused by usb
Ok…well good luck…no issues on mine…same scenerio
As I said in original post… firestick is in free open space. Firestick does not overheat UNLESS Surf shark is used
As I said in original post Firestick is using provided USB power brick
can u run background process list and close unwanted running apps . and are you using the hdmi extender aswell
What do you suggest for process list? The firestick install was pretty vanilla. No special downloads. I was running the Amazon browser and Surf shark after a fresh power reset prior to over temp. Yes HDMI extender is installed. Only unique thing might be the Amazon Alexa home theater.
