Getting geo restricted on 9now through an Australian server

I watched a few hours of MAFS and now I can’t get through anymore, always get the error. I’ve tried emptying the cookies, restarting, different Australian servers, chrome profiles, nothing.

Anyone know what might be causing this issue

Are you using OpenVPN UDP as the connection protocol in Nord?

Step 1 - Do not watch MAFS! :X

Sorry couldn’t resist. Hope you found resolution.

Thank you for the reply! It was set to auto. Should I change this?

Yup, use OpenVPN UDP for all streaming. You probably got lucky with “auto” before and then the app switched you to a different protocol, which caused 9now to identify you as a VPN user.

Set to UDP in Nord, clear all your 9now cookies, connect to the server you want, then open up 9now and log in again. It should work.

Can’t remember exactly which streaming site it was, but one of the Australian ones would only work with Firefox for some reason, so if you’re still having trouble, try changing browsers. You should also be able to use ublock origin to block ads if you want, but definitely sort the connection issue first.

Alright, that seems to have fixed it! Thank you so much, I’ll make sure to use that for streaming.

Ahh, no, I spoke too soon. Started messing about soon after switching to firefox and even after clearing any cookies and such. You have helped me so much already, but is there anything else you can think of? Thank you again for all the help, I really appreciate it!

You’re welcome, glad it worked

The only other thing I could think of would be to disable ipv6. Not sure what OS you are using, but just Google “disable ipv6” and the name of your operating system and follow the instructions. It’s just ticking a box really.

VPNs only cover ipv4 addresses so sometimes websites will use ipv6 to determine your actual location.

If that’s what is happening here then disabling ipv6 should work.
