Hamachi on Homelab

So, I want to be able to use my web console outside of my house. Obviously, I dont want it to touch the open internet. Currently, I use hamachi to remote to a pc on site that then connect to my pve via ssh. So I would like to not have mutliple VPN clients if I dont have to.

After looking hamachi doesnt say it specifically supports debian. Has anyone here tried to use hamachi like this? If so, did it work as intended or was it a nightmare?

Why not just use tailscale/wireguard/openvpn?

Hamachi… Now, that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time… A long time…

Please let hamachi die and use a modern solution like others have recommended.

Uninstall hamachi from all your other machines and just use Tailscale or zero tier.

Hamachi does in fact work on linux.

On my desktop I use haguchi as the frontend and setup hamachi via aur (arch) though I added auto restart on crash in the service config.

I have a few servers that run both debian (11 I think) and almalinux 8.

I remember using Hamachi years ago when I couldn’t figure out how to port forward on my router for my Minecraft server

I personally run ovpn server to access remotely instead of relying on proprietary LogMeIn software

Id like to keep a single platform for it all, some of my local machines already use hamachi. Definatley an idea ive thrown around if Hamachi just flat out wont work.

I use it on my fedora workstation. So I know it works on linux. Youve had success with it working on debian?

Tailscale you can access any resource in any network from your PC.

Yup, running fine on debian: https://i.imgur.com/x2boWwf.png

I’ve had no issues with it, but I don’t use it often.

And it’s not a proxmox server, but it is running on proxmox behind vyos.
