I just bought airvpn so that I could seed properly with port forwarding, but I’m still getting no activity. I tried all different kinds of torrents from all different places, torrents like the flash that has hundreds of downloads, but I’m still getting nothing.
windows
qbtorrent
airvpn
port forwarding
I’m trying to build my ratio for a private tracker. Can anyone help?!
EDIT: Here’s what I’ve learned so far: I am trying to download from a private tracker.
They have internal (INT) and external (EXT) torrents. You ONLY get a seeding ratio from EXT torrents.
Some torrents also have freeleech, which means that downloading them won’t count against you. So choosing these torrents is beneficial.
Some private trackers ONLY allow you to boost your upload GB by BUYING 1GB at a time. This can be done with points that you get from downloading, or by purchasing them.
I still cannot get anything to seed or improve my ratio so far.
first - read You provide Remote Port Forwarding, what is it? - AirVPN
Once you have read that fully including the added links on that page then do a test via ipleak.net click on Torrent Address detection and add that magnet link into qB.
The torrent will never finish (obvious) but it is to ensure you have indeed setup binding correctly.
To test further go to Forwarded ports - AirVPN and click on Test Open on the port you have set to forward to your device (or to all devices).
Have you tested your ports are open on something like canyouseeme? And also binned your vpn to your bitorrent client. Those are usually the first troubleshoots
Depending on the tracker, it could simply that its not an active enough tracker. That, or you’re just getting your upload snubbed by seedboxes. With the latter condition you should still get a little bit of upload. Does the tracker show if you’re connectable or not? It should say connectable if the port is forwarding right.
Are these public or private torrents that you are seeding?
HDSpace is not an easy tracker to build ratio on.The bonus system is not very generous.Torrentleech may be better for you.
I did all of this, but I think maybe the tracker is a scam
Can you please explain what you mean by “binned your vpn to your bitorrent client”?
I’m also using AirVPN and Transmission on macOs. I have port forwarding set up at AirVPN and the port tests as open (both from within Transmission and from canyouseeme). However none of the torrents I am seeding have any upload speed at all, even though the torrents themselves have lots of people downloading them according to the tracker. For some reason since switching from Mullvad to AirVPN I can’t seed at all.
I get zero upload from this tracker (hdspace). There’s other seeds, so I’m assuming there’s other sources, but I don’t understand why I’m not even getting a mb of a taste. Is it possible that this tracker is just a scam? Where would the tracker show if I’m connectable? on the website?
Thanks, do you have an invite?
I usually look for dead torrents with leechers that I can resurrect. It works great to build ratio and get freeleech tokens. You will need access to Usenet or other trackers to find the files. This works for HDSpace and other private trackers. I agree that Torrentleech would be a better choice. It has loads of freeleech and plenty of seeders/leechers. Some trackers will accept you for a donation. You might also try https://torrentinvites.org for invites and https://reddit.com/r/trackers for general info.
Yes my VPN is bound correctly. It could be a lack of activity shrug
Yeah, on the website, usually in account info or something like that. Even though I’m forwarded right, one of the trackers I’m on seems to randomly think I’m not connectable. I’m not familiar with that particular tracker, but try and watch new uploads to see how many seeds they get, and if new seeds are actually downloading. Some people do a thing called cross-seeding which is adding a file you already have to a different site’s torrent.
Another thing worth trying is setting up the tracker to work with autobrr, which you can set up to download copies of new releases as soon as they post (i.e. set up a filter to download [NEW MARVEL MOVIE] [2023] [1080p] [5.00GB-10.00GB] ). This gets you into the initial swarm and helps with competing against seedboxes on a residential connection.
Edit: Are you getting a Kb of a taste though?
Unless you have a seedbox this is pretty normal. With most private trackers you need to farm bonus points & buy upload.
