Problem solved. Thanks mate.
8years old, this still works. Thought i was going to have to completely reset my laptop after my ovpn password got changed. Thank you!
Be very careful with this. It will still often show a green, connected icon in the tray but your not connected through you VPN. Disconnect and reconnect to a different server and it should be ok again.
Nowdays I ALWAYS do an IP and DNS check before connecting to any site.
It is a big issue that takes me 20 minutes sometimes to resolve on my laptop. The DHCP doesn’t always come up and you just go around in circles till something happens and it works. Haven’t been game try the kill switch on my other computer.
glad you got it resolved
Good to see you resolved the issue although a system restore is overkill I can’t argue with results.
Glad to have helped!
And thank you for the gold!
happy to have helped
Thanks for the comments! I tried utilizing the “troubleshoot problems” route and it didn’t turn up anything. Maybe I just needed to try it out again? I did end up fixing it though. I’ll post what I did up above.
Agreed. I figured that a system restore would be just enough overkill, but not quite a reinstall the OS overkill. Haha.
