I was using Kaspersky, didn’t realize they’d be shuffling us off to some rando AV in September. Nearly had a heart attack when I started my pc today and found a program I didn’t download. For some reason though I still have Kaspersky.
I’m planning on switching to something else anyway but until then I want this ultra off my pc. But when I try to uninstall it, the uninstaller gets stuck on 20%. How can I force this program off my computer without the uninstaller getting stuck?
Same! I had awful flashbacks to highschool when I encountered a worm on my home PC. It feels Extremely invasive. No warning email or notification at all. I managed to uninstall UltraAV and their VPN program in the panic but I can’t actually delete the Program folder for some reason. It keeps saying the items in the folder are “in use” somewhere else. I’m worried it’s tied into Kaspersky and I’d just as soon keep that program as long as i can.

You can deactivate the app by shutting it down using task manager followed by an uninstallation using Revo Uninstaller or BC Uninstaller. Control Panel Uninstaller works too.
I tried u ninstalling it using Cntrol Panel Uninstall. Then it apparently disabled my computer. Started in Safe Mode and restored the system to a restore point from before Ultra AV installed itself. The only problem now is that I get a small blue box every 10 seconds saying that the program can’t start. Still working it.
No matter how good Ultra AV is, I wouldn’t use it because it installed itself with no opt out. Once I get rid of it totally, I’m done. NEVER.
Thank you! the Revo Uninstaller worked for me as well. WTF Kaspersky. Cant even get a hold of their customer support to get a refund back on my subscription. They used to be a good company
Same thing happened to me today, I got that ultra AV auto installed which is very suspicious, I tried to uninstall it and got stuck to 20%, I restart the PC and try to uninstall the ultraVPN first then the UltraAv and it worked that way
Hello I’m really hoping someone can help me. UltraAV installed without my permission or awareness, its not in my control panal list of apps so i cant uninstall there or with revo. When I try to delete the folder it says access denied. When I try to run their uninstaller, it gives a “side by side” error. When I try running any of the exe to target with with revo hunter mode, they open as a background processes that I CANT CLOSE because access denied. They take up ridiculous amounts of CPU. What can I do??
Got Revo to uninstall it. So I thought… Files are still on my computer and processes running on task manager. The File won’t delete. Bitfender won’t install because it still thinks Ultra is my current antivirus. Ultra does not show up in control panel or Revo. I just see the file under program files and it won’t let me delete it…
Just a tip for everyone coming over from Kaspersky that is removing UltraAV. Make sure you log in your UltraAV account and CANCEL the auto-renew. Yes they do in fact have auto-renew for you. Do not forget to disable it before uninstalling and switching.
So I just thought - did kaskpersky subscriptions transfer too? Like, are they going to start charging us for UAV? I ripped it out with Revo without really thinking about that part. Worst case scenario is I guess whenever I get billed I’ll just dispute it, but I’d like to maybe avoid that if possible haha.
Hello everyone. I heard about this story and decided to test this antivirus to find out if it is good or bad.
Here is the video for anyone who wants to see the test results: https://youtu.be/AB4oZXaa4tI&list=UULFUNyU0HewM1JQVVKMAEAfyQ
Ps.: The video has subtitles, title and description in 8 languages. So that anyone can watch and understand what is being explained.
Just found this on my computer. Trying to figure out if I need to do the whole revo uninstall business. Did Kaspersky really download something that is harmful to my computer? I’m baffled.
Will ULTRA AV automatically charge us.
Upon installation of Ultra AV, ALL drives attached to my computer including the OS (C:), Data (D:), and external hardrive (G:) have had a series of intrusive folders named: !- and ~!-
The folders have a large assortment of file types each with the name “Data”
Further cluttering are other files of word, exe, pdf, jpg types named: !-SCPGT01.DOC, !-SCPGT02.XLSX, !-SCPGT03.JPEG, !-SCPGT04.PDF
Deleting these files just leads to their quick re-insertion.
I’m going to assume they are Ultra AV since A: they only sprung up when UAV was installed and B: Even manually scanning the files doesn’t trigger UAV.
Has anyone else seen these files and do they disappear with UAV uninstallation?
It would be tragic to wipe my computer just to reinfect it from my external hard drive.
Does RevoUninstaller also target external hard drives?
Have to say been using Kasperky forever, it protected me like a parent protects a child. Or did it. With this BS Ultra AV install, and it is a crap piece of software as had so many issues with it already. But makes me wonder if Kaspersky willing to pull this stunt, what were they doing that we will maybe never know about. Maybe gov is right, they were not to be trusted.
uninstalled the Ultra AV, but VPN Took forever. I went with McAfee, tried, trusted known.
fax good thing i got a new card,mf trying to charge me $105 for some shit Kaspersky threw me into

This worked for me. I used it to remove UltraAV, Ultra VPN, and Kaspersky Password Manager (just in case), and all three remain gone after a reboot. Time to do research on a new AV again.
