[HOW-TO] Bypass School Wi-Fi Restrictions

Will it work in China? :stuck_out_tongue:

This works perfectly, posting from my schools wifi, I am surprised that this worked as my school Is a technology school and is very tight on this sort of thing e.g literally no VPN works. I can confirm this is working for me. Thanks

Just use OpenVPN (Depending on the network settings). It’s much less haste and doesn’t impact speed as much.

Hi, I’m a very big noob at this kind of stuff and I might be a bit late but at my school I am unable to connect to VPNs because for some reason they won’t connect on school wifi and I don’t even use TOR/easy surf but I always get this for some reason,
(http://m.imgur.com/CCCotQL) and I’m kicked off the wifi for the duration of the period. If I still install TOR will it bypass this? If not how do I get VPNs to work? I can connect to it at home but not at school

Is it possible to put the proxy.pac somewhere online and use it for tor? Several of my friends would love to do something like this but cannot/are not going to jailbreak.

I have tried making a profile that redirects all traffic to the ā€œproxyā€ using the PAC file that I put on my dropbox. It only works on my device, not my friend’s (supposedly because I have tor installed).

Is there any way to use this without being jailbroken?

Just saiyan, but I think my school has blocked port 80. I can’t connect through their proxy at all…

can i get past the passwords with this? i’m sorry, i really don’t understand network stuff.
also can anyone explain to me what a vpn is and how to use it?

Maybe a free web proxy can work fine for surfing, for example - http://afacebookproxy.com

A lot of schools block VPNs, including mine. Also, almost all if not all free VPN services collect and sell your information, such as Onavo which is owned by Facebook, and VPNs that dont sell your information cost money.

VPN didn’t work for my school filter.

It used to be slow, but it’s constantly improving on its speed. And, well, it’s free, you know.

Or build one at home: even more privacy+100% uptime when you need it+free if you already have Internet at home+schools can’t block your home IP

Could I ask what would be in violation? My IT team here are complete noobs, what exactly would show up on there end if I’m on my phone? How will they be able to track me, as opposed to a guest doing the same thing?
(I work in a hospital)

What’s it like being a SysAdmin?

Yeah, but at school your device is not tied to a person.

You can use Tor as a proxy for the whole system and all apps (like Facebook), Onion browser can not do that.

I’m pretty sure it won’t - a vpn might work though.

In Maine, they legally have to provide a ā€œsafeā€ network. I’ve had a conversation with an admin before and he said that he doesn’t care at all, it’s just the law.

It depends. If the network is secured and you need password to connect then no. If the login just takes filters down then maybe.

You don’t want to do this on networks that have a login, they can track you down.
