Im in Canada and have a Roku TV but the Netflix app won’t work with my VPN. I heard it’s something to do with the way the Roku routes a DNS. Anyone help?
Torguard with dedicated IP, configure on Router…depends what u have
You need to setup the VPN on your router, or possibly on your computer. I’d suggest buying a router you can flash with Tomato or ddwrt, and using it to connect your Roku to the internet. There are many tutorials online on how to do that
I connect my Roku to a router I flashed with DD-WRT firmware and have VyprVPN setup on the router.
Netflix blocks most VPN providers. Very few still work properly and those that do some are better than others. The 100% reliable approach is to put a vpn router set up as a server or a Raspberry Pi set up as a server in your home location and then connect to it from wherever you happen to be. Netflix will always think it’s a home connection and never block it. You can pretty easily
build a Raspberry Pi VPN server or get the whole thing plug and play by getting a behomebox
I’m having a similar issue. I’ve got an openvpn pi server set up at my US home location, a router with DDWRT and a working openvpn client config on the router. Some of the streaming channels work on the router, some don’t. Channels like HGTV and Food Network never allow me to activate the roku. Netflix never loads, giving the NW-2-5 error code. Running the network test within the app shows the roku can hit Netflix servers without a problem. Any help would be appreciated!
behomebox seems expensive, considering unzoner.com does the same thing for free and the hardware is BYO.
The site doesn’t work - also nothing comes up when googling uzoner?
it’s uNzoner.com, sorry for the typo.
