I built this website for people with VPN to check the availability of movies and TV shows in every country

Ahoy sailors, I was not entirely sure if it falls under piracy, but it’s certainly a grey area, so I asked the mods if I could post it here and I think some people in the community might appreciate it.

I’m a designer learning to code and I built this tool (streamwithvpn.com) for myself first because even though I mainly use Stremio, I do have Netflix and Amazon Prime (shared with my parents) and there is so much more to their catalogs that is blocked by geo-restriction that I wanted an easy tool to check their availability because sometimes, depending on the movies or tv shows, there aren’t enough seeds and if available, I find it easier to watch on these platforms.

Keep sailing…

Nice job. Some of us get the streaming services for free, via your ISP or cell provider or whatever, and I admit I still use them for this reason from time to time.

Nice. But I thought prime video’s library was based on Amazon billing address, not IP address. Am I wrong about that?

It’s pretty good, but is there an option to see what is not available in the US, but available in a specific target country?

It looks like the main search searches ALL countries and you have to click a title to see if it is available in a specific country you were looking for.

Just signed up. Having issues, just messaged you.

Hey man, i can’t create an account. Can you help me with that?

Great site but isn’t the problem here that Netflix does detect your VPN server and as such limits the available catalogue to simply their own produced content?

Really nice! Been looking for exactly this for a while now!

Hey, an idea: I have an elder parent who can still read subtitles fine, but she doesn’t exactly understand English, so she needs to have the subtitles for the native language.

I wonder if there’s a way to check for possible subtitles in the services?

Some languages in Europe prefer to have dubbed too.

Very cool. Works so well and fast.

Nice, reminds me of watch stream

This is great! Is there any chance you could add a map function, please?

I don’t think most of the mubi titles are showing up. I am from India and when I choose India and vpn I only see 254 titles. As of now, Mubi has 3596 movies out of which 1114 are showing in India. That means there are 2482 movies that are not showing up. Even accounting for the fact that VPN servers are not available in all countries, there are way too many movies missing. You can check whatsonmubi.com which has more accurate data than Justwatch.

Not finding content available on prime via subscribed channels. An example with prime france is Galactik Football. For reasons like that its better to stick with JustWatch for now

Thanks, I appreciate it. I knew I would find some people in the same situation here.

I don’t think so, I was changing my VPN to Ireland to watch the 5th season of Fargo there, which is amazing btw.

As far as I’ve seen, this is correct. Unlike Netflix and Disney+, Prime only shows the programs that are available in BOTH your billing country AND your current (or VPN) country. Try watching content in Japan, for example, and very little is available.

HBOMax/Max seems to be the same as Prime.

Not in the main search. I do have this section where you can find titles available in a certain streaming service but unavailable in a certain country, there you can also filter out by VPN but not a specific country: streamwithvpn.com/unavailable/
I’m still working on it and this is a good feedback. Thanks!
