Hi All,
I have a project, vpc and a single subnet in it. I recently configured a HA VPN.
Now, i would like to totally change/update the current subnet range present in the subnet.
I am afraid, what impact it will have on the below ones
-
the gateway IP of the subnet. will it also change accordingly
-
The HA Cloud VPN which is established (will it go into any error state)
Please reply
So you want to delete and recreate the subnet with different IP ranges right?
Your VPN gateway and tunnel will be fine.
You should check the advertisement on Cloud Router, if it’s advertising the new subnet you just configured then it’s fine.
Thanks for the reply.
I want to just update the subnet IP range (without deleting and recreating the subnet). is it possible.
We configured the HA vpn 2 tunnels and BGP sessions on 2 interfaces… Is it enough if i check whether the VPN tunnels and BGP sessions remain in “green status” after the new IP ranges is updated in subnet
Editing subnet is limited to expanding the subnet IP range (example: 192.168.0.0/24 to 192.168.0.0/23).
If you want to change it then you need to create a new subnet and move your compute resource to the new subnet.
The green status only confirms the tunnel and BGP session is established. The connectivity can still fails to connect because missing routing, advertising or firewall rule on the other site.
okay,so after deleting and recreating the subnet with the new IP range, are there any steps to see that the cloud VPN config is still fine
