Is It Possible to Have a Static IP Address With Proton VPN?

Hi, for work needs I have this problem. Usually I travel across my country and with my phone I have to connect to my company’s server through remote access. The problem I am facing is the firewall of the server, who scans my IP Address to check if the IP is authorized to connect to it. I can change the firewall settings when I am not traveling, but since when I am out for work, the IP changes multiple times, I would like to find a way to make it static with a VPN. Is it possible to do so with Proton?

Thank you.

Out of the box not, however you can contact the business sales team:

We handle these requests with HubSpot. If you would like to communicate privately with Proton AG, please send an email with the below information to [email protected].

configure wireguard manually. download a config

or create a profile in the app ,choose a vpn you want, create a profile with it . then configure the app quickconnect settings to connect to that profile.
this way you always connect to that vpn and it will always be the same ip.
I have been connected to US-NJ-09 for 3 months and my public ip has not changed once (based on ip.me). It is even blacklisted in a few places and despite notifying that to support. the ip has still not changed.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion. I tried an hour ago, but currently it seems that “at least for me” the IP changes during time. Essentially I did everything you said, but sometimes when I reconnect, the IP changes.

Yours might not have changed but it’s shared across multiple users

Are you using the app? On android?
Does the app show you are always connected to the same location.
I test and if I pick nj-09 either on windows or mobile I always get the same public IP.
I’d give wireguard a go

A bit old but I stumbled across this. Apparently using a single server .ovpn configuration file doesn’t help, when reconnecting the ip changes nearly every time.

What does work seems to be with a single server WireGuard configuration, I’ve been using it now since a couple of days and the ip is always the same every time I reconnect to the VPN

I’m looking at the free WireGuard configuration. I’m also wondering if the public IP remains static, once connected.
