Is there a way to get VPN on TV?

So no Smart DNS is an IP address that you enter into your TV’s (mine is a LG C8 Oled) network settings. I like this feature as I can enable or disable SMARTDNS easily.

It is hit or miss. Nord changes their IP number and then Netflix bans it. Sometimes you have to search for a specific server number within a country.

The Pi would act as the network gateway and handle all traffic going in and out of the network, so you connect it to the VPN.

I’ll let him know to try that. Hopefully it works. Thanks!

I want to do it, so I was thinking what would be loaded on the pie? Is there a how to or a project where somebody talks about doing this? It would be great to have an ethernet or wifi based VPN

You could do this with any computer that can bridge a wifi, which is most computers running Windows 10, just activate your VPN on that, broadcast the connection from your computer and on your TV, connect to the Wifi that your computer is broadcasting. The wifi speeds may be a little slow, so you may just want to go with the router option.

I have an old project with this exact objective but never quite finished. The basic routing stuff works fine and ui is decent. Message me and I can give you the img. There are tutorials just look up “raspberry pi vpn” but they all require a bit of effort being set up

What makes yours different?

No need to setup because it’s already a .img

Also there is web UI for managing options so no need to use serial console and having to manually edit config files.

Hey man! I found this thread while searching for exactly this solution! Could you maybe send me that file?

I must say I have no idea about the pi and just ordered the 3 b+ but I will read up about everything I need to know to set it up.
