I set up Mullvad two days ago on my pc and it worked fine. Admittedly I haven’t been able to test it in the last 24 hours on the pc, but when I try and set up the app on my phone it doesn’t work.
After opening the app it asks if I want to allow notifications, I select yes then agree to terms. When I try to enter my key, I get an error saying “login failed. An error occurred” It doesn’t pop up asking to set up a VPN on my phone or anything else.
Same problem here. Been having issues for over 24 hours now on one Android device. Everything else works fine. I had to workaround the issue by using the Android Wireguard client and config files for my preferred Mullvad VPN servers generated in Mullvad. Opened my second support ticket in 24 hours, no replies yet.
With that said, it would be immensely helpful if Mullvad would list these things on their website so their customers are not left guessing and resorting to searching in Reddit.
I have been using Mullvad for almost a year now. They do have some minor issues but this is the first time I’ve encountered something like this. I hope this won’t become a regular experience. I really love their service.
DNS is being all sorts of fucked up. Can’t load reddit urls 95% of the time, it complains about domain not found. Switch to different provider and it works fine. Nice. Still no acknowledgement about issues on mullvad socials because a firefox fork nobody asked for is more important than actually keeping users updated about service status.
I’ve been encountering this same issue on Android for about 24 hours. I cannot connect. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling, deleting Wireguard keys, nothing. Still works fine on PC, it’s exclusively an issue with Android.
^(albeit after >24 hrs. back-and-fourth with mullvad customer service, problem was finally resolved earlier this morning — now I know to never attempt custom workarounds on mullvad [android os7 app] if “appears” not to be connecting to remote VPN servers, i.e. always confirm via mullvad homepage banner or whatsmyip first … presuming app isn’t automatically blocking all internet connectivity)
same problem with android, i thought maybe the ISP is blocking something so i tried running a vpn before trying to login and even setup wireguard using keys from mulvad and still can not sign in (vpn working with wireguard keys though)
