Every time i try to load a new website, it goes straight to “cannot connect to internet” screen. Other browsers and even apps are connected just fine. What happened and how can i fix it? I was just doing my daily do’s and it just suddenly went into that state :l
Goto the URL opera://settings/vpn and make sure the VPN is disabled. If it is though, you can try enabling it just to test if that allows you to work around the problem. Not a solution though.
With the VPN off though, goto the URL opera://settings/system, enable DNS over HTTPS, restart Opera and test if that makes a difference.
here with the same issue, i tried enabling dns over https and it didn’t do anything

DNS over HTTPS fixed it for me. Thanks man, tried everything I saw online and nothing was working. I was losing it.

If you’re on Windows, make a test standalone installation to a folder named “Opera GX Test” on your desktop and see how things work there. Also, test to see if you have the issue in other browsers too or not.
Okay. If that’s the case, it’s probably an issue with your ISP’s DNS servers. If desired, you can try to fix the issue system-wide instead of just in Opera. See https://developers.cloudflare.com/1.1.1.1/setup/windows/ for how to set your DNS servers to Cloudflare’s. This can be done for Windows for example or you can do it in your router if you know how.
What happens when you just goto the URL opera://settings? Opera GX on what operating system?
Opera works at full capacity when I use my mobile datas but doesn’t work when I’m on the wifi on my internet box
Yeah, I think you’re right. About 30 minutes after my comment my internet went down for a couple of minutes and then it came back up and I’ve had no issues since, even after turning off DNS over HTTPS. It was most definitely my ISP.
