I always just turn off the auto-renewal then renew manually when the time is almost up. I can’t stand auto-pay for anything.
Hey there, please DM me your acct number and I can take a look for you. We do indeed honor 30-day money-back guarantees on auto-renewals, so it’s not normal that we would refuse to honor your request.
Just have your CC company change your card number, I realize that sucks for auto pays but those fraud reports can get rejected if you legit signed up for it and the CC company will tell you to work it out with the company. For this amount of money, maybe not, but…
Every time my card I have PIA billing on is out of money, they just close my account after a few tries and make me open a new one. Pretty easy way to close it out.
PIA pronounce 1 month free trial, then I took one month term for trial…and tried to cancel 6 days before 1 month…PIA refused cancel… very tricky…
Thanks for the reminder to turn off auto renew. Odd enough after getting the confirmation email that that was turned off, I got a 2nd email that looks like a support ticket was opened titled “Customer canceled”. No idea what that’s about but based on all the trouble folks have been reporting it might be time for a new VPN provider…what are folks liking these days?
Was it within the 30 day renewal period? The company wouldn’t break its promise to do that… what’s the context?
Sign up for a privacy.com account and create a 1 time use card for online accounts that way when you cancel they can’t bill you any more
I haven’t been able to locate the disable auto-renewal button. I heard it was on the Subscription Overview page but I just don’t see it. There is SUBSCRIPTION RENEWS ON column but I just don’t see a button anywhere to stop it.
EDIT: turns out it’s hidden unless you move your mouse over to “SUBSCRIPTION RENEWS”
The company wouldn’t break its promise
Companies NEVER “break their promise” is your claim “bro”?
That’s a very interesting world view…
Tell me, what color is the sky in your world?
Yessir, within 2 days of an auto-renewal I had canceled MONTHS ago.
I’ll look into this thanks.
This is the first time I’ve had a company scam me like this.
Thanks for this I just got hit with an auto renewal today because I couldn’t find the cancel either. Shady tactics is an understatement. Time to call my cc company.
So you contacted support and asked for a refund and they refused…?
you contacted support and asked for a refund and they refused…?
Twice now, yes.
I’ve turned it over to my CC’s fraud department.
Seeing as you just called the PIA rep here a lowlife scammer, my guess is you’re either a troll or you weren’t actually entitled to a refund and now you’re pissed.
Either way, good luck with your cc company…
I’m a troll for being angry at a company for ripping me off?
/r/hailcorporate moderator by chance?
What would you call people who work scam call centers? Boss? Heroic?
You’re a troll if you tell the PIA rep who wanted to help you that they’re a lowlife scammer. You probably weren’t qualified for a refund and now you’re pissed. Whatever bro, you do you
So you can’t answer the question and so you drop to unsupported ad homenem.

Now some stranger claims to be a representative of said company asks for personal data…
Your sage advice is to … Foolishly provide account information to this unknown sub?
That is your position, right. Tell us all “bro”… how long have you worked in the security field?
