Playing online video games in China

Hi everyone!

I’m currently in China and would like to play online video games. The problem : I’m not Chinese. I’d like to know what you’d recommend so that I can play properly. I play games like Valorant or Rocket League. I’ve tried to play by connecting to other servers with a VPN, but this leads to heavy pinging. I’ve also tried installing the Chinese versions of the games but they require a Chinese ID to authenticate and I don’t have a Chinese ID…

Do you have any solutions?

You will need a 加速器 which acts like a VPN for online games only. There will be SOME ping issues, but I’ve played Halo Infinite with very little issue. They’re are quite a few to choose from, and only needed a phone number, or WeChat, in every case

  1. Use UU booster to play foreign server games, it’s VPN but focus on gaming latency and stability. I play SEA servers Dota2 and CS2 with it and it did a great job. But you can’t expect a low ping if you are going to play American or European servers because of their physical distance.
  2. Search 腾讯健康系统 in wechat mini program, where you may be able to verify ID via your passport.

PC: managed with Dota for about 30+ ms ping.
PS5: So far okay and playable.

This is after logging on with UU Accelerator (installed in my xiaomi router). You can purchase / subscribe to UU without Chinese ID

I play on European servers from China. I use Lonlife 150ms on average and it has a special server for downloading blizzard/steam, etc games.

Depends, there are many accelerator services to play on foreign servers. In Beijing I get 70MS ping to Australia and 100 to eu for Runescape, 60 to Japan for path of exile, with xianniu (xianniu.com)

There is also UU, qiyou, and Leigod, all of which are good and popular

The best way is to get UU or Leigod and connect to Japan/SEA servers. I used to play Rocket League in China this way and the ping was always acceptable <100.

You can play the Chinese versions of games with an account verified with a visa. You must real name verify using WeChat and QQ. It’s not hard and only takes a few days. The thing is that everything is in Chinese for both the game and the application. If you want to go this route send me a dm and I can try to help you out. :grin:
