[proton unlimited] How do I whitelist/blacklist which VPN servers I want ProtonVPN connecting to?

As title says, I want to choose servers I do or don’t want to use. For example I typically prefer to use servers in the US, but specifically would rather not send data through some specific states. I know I could just select a single server and have it always use that, but I would rather let it automatically choose between servers especially for speed-purposes.

Is there any whitelist/blacklist feature for paid users?

Yes, in the U.S. it would be great to be able to select a state, have the state as a profile entry, and let the VPN client choose the fastest server in that state.

Alright. I’ll say it. Nobody wants to connect to Virginia or Texas for obvious reasons.

But in all seriousness, it is a little strange that it constantly wants to connect to Virginia every single time. Especially when those are usually the worst performing for me.

+1. I live in the northeast; I don’t want my VPN connecting through Georgia or Illinois for no reason (as the Windows app is wont to do). Frankly, it sometimes screws up porn viewing as well, as Proton will pick a server in a state that PornHub has blacklisted, for example.

I’ve been asking for this for years. Might be time to send in another yearly feature request for it.

I want to create a profile and add specific servers to it. Not one server as it is now, but several servers, and the app would choose fastest or random from my list. For the Apple-specific versions, iCloud sync my profiles among macOS/iOS/iPadOS/etc.

No

You can set up different profiles for your purposes on paid P-VPN, can’t you? Set up different profiles for servers in each city-state you want to use. Then, you can select between them.

This seems to be quite something of interest. There was a brief discussion a short time ago in which u/DistantJourneys noted a Proton UserVoice topic (Blacklist connecting to VPN servers – The Voice of the Proton Community). You can vote there for it.

They really need to make this feature a reality.

I second this. I live in NJ, but by default I always gets connected to Chicago or AZ server. I have to manually reconnect to NJ/NY servers.

Looking at you Ashburn Virginia servers…

We’ll pass on your request to the team for future consideration

I gave up on auto connect and the “Fastest” profile and just created a bunch of separate profile listings for my state.

Bring back the old interface. This version sucks and is useless.
