Proton vpn becoming a bit useless

How is it that proton a premium vpn that I pay for can’t be able to connect to my school wifi but psiphon a non-paid one quickly connects? I tried stealth, openvpn-tcp all those advices were useless… Has anyone here discovered the solution to the problem?

Is it possible your school is blocking it?

Yeah, just because it’s not working on your school network it’s completely useless and doesn’t work for anyone…

Try disabling LAN connections under Advanced Settings. For me, anyway, this fixed an issue with Proton VPN not connecting to my workplace wifi while PIA VPN had no issues at all.

the solution is to ask your school IT about it

These people disagreeing with you are weird. You paid for the product you should receive full benefits.

i share the same concern as you. It also has problems on my side on some networks. Try changing the protocol from connection settings. Wireguard is usually blocked on some networks, idk why. Try something other than Wireguard.

I previously used ExpressVPN and never had any issues, it used IKEv2 protocol, while Proton defaults to Wireguard.

That’s not the fault of Proton VPN. You need to raise the issue with the administrator of your school WiFi network.

Yes, it is a metered network but Psiphon is bypassing it so easily, too bad its slow. Ever encountered such an issue?

I mean that’s the main reason I paid for it and it can’t do the work a free vpn can

I don’t see that option in my advanced settings

Ahh yes. Asking the school IT for tips on how circumvent their network policies is always the solution.

that’s not the point of a vpn, especially when its paid.

You mean that Proton VPN must be able to order the school IT administrator to open up their network for the OP just because the OP paid for Proton VPN?

Do you really think there is a law making it illegal for a school to decide their own IT policy?

express vpn works everywhere. but it’s not about the brand, it’s the protocol. You can change Proton’s protocol and find the one that works. Express uses IKEv2

all protons protocols have proven futile, are 100 sure
