Protonvpn vs nordvpn

Hello I need a VPN for privacy and torrent. I’m considering to make a basic protonvpn account, but I’m also considering nord VPN… Is there anyone who tried both and can tell me his opinion about the two services?
Is there any kind of trial with nordvpn? I see on android app description in play store that says 7 days free trial but on the website there isn’t that trial.
Thanks

Nord has too many spammers on Reddit, I would not consider it trustworthy.

ProtonVPN is probably OK as long as you get the paid version, they don’t allow torrents with their free service. No idea on their performance or anything else. Also see /r/ProtonMail and /r/ProtonVPN.

NordVPN has made ridiculous and unrealistic claims in the past. They use a fake server status page. I wouldn’t trust them. If these are your only options, the obvious answer is ProtonVPN as they have great reputation from ProtonMail.

I like NordVPN regardless of some claims people have against it. There’s always going to be some problem with a VPN service because nothing can be perfect.

If you like torrenting and privacy I think something that is out of the Five Eyes is best. Although PIA is in the US it seems more reliable than a lot of others.

When torrenting you need a VPN with a Kill Switch and DNS Leak Protection, as well as P2P option for the server.

And if these aren’t my only option? I was thinking about these two after some research but maybe you can suggest something better… I was also thinking about mullvad for example…

Mullvad is a better option than NordVPN, but I’d recommend Cryptostorm. They have a proven business model including innovative features such as token authentication (Mullvad has this, too, but it can be tied to a user since it’s not a true hash) and deepDNS. The majority of their configuration is available on their GitHub (so you can verify that their intelligence is real and is likely implemented).
