Question regarding types of VPN

Hi, I have never used VPNs until I start needing them at work to connect to private resources behind subnets. But I knew that VPNs were also used to change my IP address or location, and when I try to check if my ip changes when I’m connected to my work’s VPN, it doesn’t change.

This gets me to wonder if those two types of VPNs are the same, or if they are totally different tools named similar?

Also, is this anything related to Hamachi in any way?

Gotcha, so when an user uses a vpn to change his vpn, its using like a full tunnel instead of a split tunnel. That makes sense. When i use a vpn for that, i also need to configure a server to connect to?
