Running windows 11 arm pulse secure vpn in parallels on a 2021 m1 max mbp Help!

Hi,

I need to run pulse secure to be able to work. I want to use a vm in an isolated environment from my mac to connect to a pulse secure vpn and then a remote pc. I am able to use pulse secure via windows store and have no issues, but my company has moved to pulse secure vpn with mfa. The windows store version does not support saml that mfa uses. I can not use the windows store version and the client does not install on arm.

I read that you can emulate 64 bit programs, but i have no idea how that can be done. If that can be done would i be able to install the 64 bit client of pulse secure?

I am going to try to install linux to see if i can run pulse client on there, but would prefer to run on windows.

Please help!

Parallels runs 11 and all my windows programs just fine on an M1

Why not install the macOS pulse secure client?

Just use OpenConnect.

I spent last weekend trying parallel 17 and the preview build of Windows 11 ARM. All worked great except the PulseSecure VPN desktop client that refused to be installed. I think the installer errored at the moment it needed to create the virtual network driver. Really bumped me out.

Running into the same issues. I have a MBP 16 M1 Max with Parallels 18 running Win 11 Pro in a VM and when I download and install the windows 64 bit desktop client, it gets all the way to the end and then stops and then uninstalls. The college I connect to requires MFA so the App Store client isn’t an option. I’m wondering why win 11 Pro WoA will not run the 64 bit installer completely.

There is a new version out that works. 9.1R15 for ARM64 works! I googled and found that the NYC DOITT website will let anyone publicly download the ARM64 installer and I installed it on my parallels 18 VM and it works!!

Hey! Did you fix it? I have same problem that I use Parallels via Windows 11. Please tell me.

I tried two ways to fix but unsuccessful.

1- I’ve tried to install PulseSecure-9.1R14.x64.msi but it rolled back install and not installed.

2- I’ve tried to install Ivanti Secure(subprogram of Pulse) which for ARM version. First, It gave me pop-up called Installation Failed on half of setup but it installed. Then, I had got another fail when I run the vpn.

Are they 64 bit programs ?

I want to run mac and then an isolated vm for work. That would work, but not what i want to do. I also made a mac vm within parallels but as of now its useless

What is that.

Edit this may be what i need will try and advise thanks

Infradead is that where i get it from?

any luck on figuring out a workaround? having the same issue

Thanks u/derekanders0n!! I did a google search for pulse secure 9.1R15 for ARM64 and the downloads page, DoITT CitynetVPN - NYC.gov, showed up right on the first search page. Thank you so much!!

I soved issue with installation Ivanti 22.7.1 for ARM64 systems. Now Virtual Network adapter started and connect

Yeah it all just works. Parallels did a great job and you don’t have to think about it or configure anything

Never found solution for this. FWIW, we moved to cytrix gateway now.

But how??? I installed windows 11 right from the menu and i still can not install this 64 bit vpn

Are you by chance using the App Store version of parallels? I think you need the version you download from Parallels directly. They are different unfortunately.

Thats so smart! actually , I’m kidding, its not. no matter why they have to do it. They will lose customers and have no idea why.
