I’m planning to use a VPN on both my Android phone and Windows laptop, primarily for watching content on Netflix which are available in other countries but not in India. Also, I’d use it to protect myself when connected to a public Wi-Fi network.
Can anyone suggest me safe (virus and malware-free) yet FREE VPN services or apps, if possible? Give me your review if you use one.

Yes, someone else mentioned Proton VPN too so I logged in to check what it’s like. Honestly, it’s more than I can expect of a free VPN. I can access Netflix content of the US, Japan, Romania, Poland and the Netherlands. I’m happy, hehe.
One question, though. Can I use it on my Windows laptop?
