SSL VPN Portal not reachable any more

We’re having a weird issue with one of our Watchguard firewalls. The SSL VPN portal usually reachable under https://public.address.com/sslvpn.html seems to have just “vanished”. The URL just leads back to the user portal login page instead.

Since the affected VPN users don’t have user portal access, this is useless to them. All they need is their VPN profile/client.

I could not find any configuration specific to the VPN download portal in PolicyManager and trying to google the issue just nets me general SSL VPN connection issues.

Where do I look to get my users their download portal back?

I assuming that you updated to 12.11 where the portal was removed for security so the site/Firebox is no longer exposed. The client can be downloaded directly from WatchGuard’s site.

This —^ I would def recommend an internal review of new patches prior to pushing them out. Especially a dot release like 12.11.

This has caught us out as well.

Will need to develop a new way for getting staff up and running on the VPN.

That’s very likely (I’m not the only tech managing that particular system).

In that light I would also like to know how I can now supply .ovpn files to end users.

In the web admin, you can go to VPN > Mobile VPN and you’ll find a “download profile” button under SSL. You’ll have to distribute it to your users by other means than the VPN download page.
