I won’t say best show ever because that’s a big compliment and they still have to stick the landing but the writing and acting is on a level that we haven’t seen from GMMTV in a while.
You can tell they took their time and invested a lot in the show. And it is definitely paying off.
Now the question is will WilliamEst do more shows? Or was the pairing just for this?
I have been waiting to see a good drama with an idol as a main lead for a long time. I have also been struggling with a lot of gmmtv shows, especially lately. That´s why I totally agree with you. It is very different to what gmmtv produces otherwise and it´s exactly the kind of show I enjoy. While I do love dark themes and messed up characters, sometimes a nice sweet story with kind characters is something I need too and ThamePo fits that bill perfectly.
As someone who didn’t even plan to watch ThamePo, it’s been a long time since I was this excited for a show that I’d actually be looking forward to Fridays
They’re doing a fantastic job so far, hope they stick the landing. WilliamEst’s acting and chemistry are fire, hope they get more projects!
It definitely is the only GMMTV series apart from perfect 10 liners (Perth Santa story) that I have watched all parts lol.I haven’t watched all of hsf even though I have a very soft spot for Sky (and Nani by extension).
The different feel has a lot to do with who the screenwriters are and the fact that it’s a female director too I think. I heard someone talk about it but I can’t remember who but they clicked though the staff on my drama list and looked at their previous works. I believe most of them normally make het shows (correct me if I’m wrong!!)so this is a newer genre for them so it’s automatically going to feel different. Plus William and Est have a very different chemistry than a lot of CPs like it’s gentle, sweet and quiet. Also like PerthSanta who have a very introverted but intense chemistry which is showing out in p10L. New chemistry + great acting = refreshing.
Plus, with all the aesthetics and color grading together, it’s very different and refreshing to see.
I also think William might show up with est in me and thee considering est was already in the pilot trailer. But casting has changed before so we have to wait and see. Like someone else said, they have a logo now so they should show up again but it might not be for a while.
Normally if GMMTV has given them a logo and merchandise, they must plan on using them again ? It will be interesting to see if William appears in Thee and Me, as Est was already in the trailer as Thee’s secretary Mok… who >! is involved with Thee’s brother Rome in the book !<
I disagree, but that doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying it. I’m not a huge fan of band drama shows/movies because I’ve seen too many stories surrounding that which is something that hindered my enjoyment of large chunks of the show because I was just waiting for us to get to the love story bit and we didn’t get enough time of Thame and Po bonding until this episode. And i don’t mean the kissing but scenes of them interacting and being cute. Up til now they’ve not given the characters time to have that connection.
So the show is better than I thought it would be (again the band dynamic/concept doesn’t intrigue me) and I really enjoyed todays episode.
But because I enjoyed watching JunPo more than Thame Po for most of the aired episodes and got bored when it was Thame dealing with his personal relationships with the band members to get them on board with remaining a band, I was uninterested. However, I didn’t skip any of it, and I’ve definitely done that with other shows before during uninteresting parts so., I think that shows it’s well written even if it’s not my thing.
Anyways TLDR, I don’t think it’s their best show in a long time but I do think it’s a fantastic show.
I wouldnt say Long Time for me as I do LOVE The Heart Killers and Only Friends and Last Twilight but it is up there. There hasnt been a single boring scene in the entire show. Im hooked from start to end and that kiss!!! I didnt expect them to be so hungry but it makes sense after all that teasing. They really had one of the best kiss scenes from GMMTV ever
Now the question is will WilliamEst do more shows? Or was the pairing just for this?
It is possible that they will be in a new series which will feature PondPhuwin and PerthSanta.
Est is in the trailer. But with William it is unknown. For now there are rumors that maybe he will be too because Est’s character has his own novel, and he has a partner there.
Reddit recommended this post to me right after ThamePo ended, so I feel compelled to update with more conclusive answers: I personally think they stuck the landing quite well, and WilliamEst is not over yet (according to William himself at the final EP fan party). We don’t have anything concrete yet other than LOL in May, but from the way they talked about it at the fan party, their plan is definitely to stick together for as long as they can.
I disagree. Mostly because it seems to be devoid of real drama. The biggest obstacle up until this point has been Jun which I think was a poorly written arc that dragged on too long. I also thought there would be more
meat to the ThamePo love story after the antagonistic start but it’s been mostly fluff. So while it’s sweet, it’s just meh for me. I wanted them to show Thame and Po’s flaws more. They could have and should have done more to really explore this boy band and the industry concept. Maybe the next 4 episodes can take this show from good to great but I doubt it. I do like William and Est and they’re doing a great job.

100% agree! Not sure if others do it, but I rewatch the show from Ep. 1 up to the latest episode so that I could get my ThamePo fix before the next Episode comes. It’s that good! and it even gets better with each episode unlike some shows where there are highs and lows.
