I have my Express vpn server set to UK but when I open the TikTok app, I still get the message saying not available in the USA. How can I use TikTok?
Possibly your account was created in US and tagged as US. Try creating a new account
Your IP address is only one way a service knows your location. Browser fingerprinting gathers information about a user’s device, such as the operating system, browser type, screen resolution, time zone, keyboard layout, etc. to create a unique profile for each user.
Fingerprinting is much more effective than relying on an just an IP address for location, because it’s much harder to trick. This is why even legitimate services use browser fingerprinting for anti-fraud measures, but it does make getting around geo-blocked content much harder than simply changing your IP address.

Try clearing TikTok’s app data, then connect to a VPN outside US and open the app. You’ll need to log in again if it works.
It is because your iCloud account is linked to the United States. it’s pretty unbelievable.

I tried to do just this the other day for Binance app. Only app I’ve ever seen circumvent the vpn. Pretty blown that Apple would let them know that.
Then Apple wouldn’t let me create another icloud account from my device, either lol.
and then I couldn’t even find the official way to do it through desktop browser… unless you want to download icloud for Windows, and I’ve been through that nightmare before… so no Binance for me.
it’s wild AF to think you could have set up your icloud account in any given region and just be tied to that region in perpetuity depending on how an app wants to go about Regional Access.

How do you do this on an iPhone or iPad with cellular?
This is not quite accurate, an app can check which country you’re signed in to with the App Store, but can’t see anything about your iCloud account. It can also check which cellular carrier you’re connected to. I am not sure which method TikTok uses. You should be able to defeat both by signing out of the App Store and disconnecting cellular but leaving wifi on.
