Trouble connecting to your VPN, Microsoft admits that a recent Windows security update is preventing virtual connections | The April security update is to blame.
Yeah, no chance this was on purpose, even if just an irritated programmer
Wondering if the timing on this is because of certain laws Texas passed that require a VPN to circumvent
God. Just don’t use windows anymore people. Start learning Linux or switch to Apple
No chance?
You are that sure?
VPNs have other uses besides what you seem to think. Most all large businesses rely heavily on VPNs. I have a VPN that connects my personal devices to my home network when I’m away from home. It isn’t all nordVPN and piracy.
No, anyone that works helpdesk at an MSP will tell you, Microsoft has broken VPN’s several times in the past thanks to their horrible updates.
I don’t think so, as this would also impact people being able to connect to their company networks.
Tons of businesses around the world rely on VPNs, it has nothing to do with whatever happens in Texas.
Not everyone has time to be a hobbyist.
I wish it was this simple. I used Linux for several months and there are just some things that don’t work so well on them. Have an nvidia card? Enjoy gimped performance. Not only that, but I make music sometimes and use Ableton, which as far as I know just straight up doesn’t work on the platform. Until more companies start taking Linux seriously as a front-end user experience, it’s going to hold a lot of people back from switching.
When obvious sarcasm isn’t obvious. Lol no worries mate
It annoys me that everyone thinks a VPN is some sort of web proxy when usually VPNs have to be configured to route all of your traffic through them and have access to the internet and aren’t set up like this by default.
I miss when hamachi was popular for gaming and people could get exposed the real power of a VPN
because you waste the time making windows work? Good for you!!!
you don’t need to be a hobbyist at all, people have trouble with Linux because Windows has been ubiquitous for so long. ultimately they are just different, Linux is not harder to use or learn, in fact the reason enthusiasts love Linux is because it’s easier to learn.
wrangling windows to do advanced functions and manage systems is an absolute nightmare because it’s a freaking black box and doesn’t tell you what it’s doing.
I really wish people would just spend 10 minutes trying to learn how to use Linux instead of just seeing a terminal and go “nope too hard.”
You need to load up the proprietary nvidia driver instead of the free one, some linux distros like mint will do it for you
WINE says Ableton should work fairly well

Though there are better alternatives that work native on linux like BitWig
install drivers through the pack manager on your distro, not on nvidias website. I use all Nvidia cards and all my Linux machines run flawlessly.
Try using a /s next time. Tone is hard to read over text. Plus I’m autistic making it doubly difficult.
I had to look up Hamachi, it seems to be solving the same problem as tailscale (albeit for the very casual user)
Aside from windows updates, there is no wasted downtime. I can’t say the same for Linux. When you spend 3 hours trying to get Newpipe working when you just want to watch a video on Netflix, or spend days trying to make your video card work, or days trying to get something running in a wine bottle… it ain’t worth it. At all. I’m a grown person with far better things to do with my time.
