Today I got my account back after a month of it being hacked and disabled by an unauthorised instagram.
If you’re in the UK you NEED to use a VPN for Europe. I used one for France. Unsure if this works for the US.
I followed a few recent threads on here which said to go to this link Contact Forms and fill in the form asking for the date you got hacked, when you last had access, emails and phone numbers linked, I also added my account URL (you don’t need it but it helps) they also ask for an unrelated email that isn’t connected to any meta accounts
I also did a brief summary of what happened, my url, my business account links etc.
I sent the request at 1pm and got an email back at around 4 requesting I send a video of me holding a piece of paper with a code on it. First one failed (I think I was too close to the cam) so did a second a little further away and moving my head at around 5.50. Got an email at 8.30 pm that my email had been changed, I got to change my password and use a login code texted to me.
Then I got to disconnect the linked instagram and payment method on my account.
I have my account, business page, and everything I lost back.
I came back here to specifically to thank InterviewDramatic811 as i have went through every single last solution right down to sending legal letters and his solution using the VPN and form worked for me. Filled in the form, Facebook replied, i give them id’s and a story of what happened, they sent me an email saying they had restored my account and sent me a new link. I had the fake instgram account that got the facebook account banned. So once again InterviewDramatic811 thank you again. On a side note I now have a good idea how this happened. I commented on a post on a Facebook group about a guy who was obviously scamming people. The next day my account got disabled, coincidence? No because i have managed to find someone else who this hapened to after making a similar comment 6 months prior. I am deciding what to do.
Unfortunately it didn’t work for me with a France VPN from the US. This was the first time in a week I’ve been able to get a reference number. 2 separate ones. One for FB and one for Insta. Unfortunately it took me back to the loop but I was successful getting an email. It just said they can’t help.
I filled this form by using a vpn and I chose the first option, I did violate Instagram’s guidelines but I wrote in the form that I didn’t. I don’t know if I’ll get my Instagram back😔
I followed all the steps you mentioned to recover my FB account. In the summary field I wrote every single detail with timestamps since my FB account was hacked Oct 2023.
However, I received a mail from Meta stating “We are unable to provide access based on the information provided in the report”
That makes me wonder. What exactly you wrote guyz in summary field made the process to complete so Meta can ask for the video?
Ah ideal I’m glad to hear it!! I’m currently going through this again but with a friend of a friend who’s accounts been hacked, login details changed but no linked instagram so hopefully I’ll know of this way works for all hacks. Glad you got your account back! I won’t take the credit as I’d read another post stating this method but made my own post to highlight it for use in the UK.
