VPN advice for china traveling

Hey everyone!

My wife and I are planning a trip to Wangxian Valley in China. It’s our first time going to China and we’ve heard the internet there can be a bit tricky to navigate without a good VPN.

We are not exactly the technical type of people and are looking for the most straightforward and working solutions as we’ve heard nordvpn may not work over there.

We’d be grateful for any tips or advice to keep our internet game strong during our trip

In china now, lot of traditional VPNs have issues, but this app called ‘Let’s VPN’ in the app store is amazing. worked without issue, is pretty fast and cheap as well. other than that, if you get a sim and can use roaming you don’t need a VPN and can use all services freely.

Forget about traditional VPN protocols and providers like nord or express. What you need is V2Ray for a reliable and fast connection from China.

We just launched V2Ray on Singapore location and beta testing Tokyo and Hong Kong servers.

Try free VPN via Telegram bot :backhand_index_pointing_right: https://vpn.fail/vpnfail_bot

A lot of traditional VPN have issues. You’re best buying a VPS (virtual private server) and setting up a v2ray instance there to connect to.

Yes! Roaming works so well on cellphone. I bought Astrill for my laptop and it works well, sometimes slow but I’m able to watch Hulu just fine/

So basically we could use ‘Let’s VPN’ when using wifi and when on the road we can use roaming with no problems

Same here, using let’s VPN when connected to a wifi.
Bought the Esim from Nomad and they work great on apps without any VPN.

Is this “V2RAY” easy to use? Also, we don’t mind paying for a premium vpn

If there is a step by step guide on that, it could be a backup solution, but otherwise we’d rather not go this route as we suck at technical stuff and we’d better avoid it instead of doing more damage

Interesting, does these esims also work on iphone?

I am just wondering can I buy esim from 3com HK and activate it in Australia or when I land in China?

Astrill vpn is working, and has been working for years. I am using it right now from within China. It is expensive. But reliable and easy to use.

V2ray is almost as easy to use as other vpn solutions. I am using v2ray as my primary solution. But it hasn’t been around as long as astrill.

V2Ray is super easy to use - just get your config from us and copy paste it to your favorite V2Ray application.

There are official apps for Windows, Mac, Android, iOS - let me know if you need help chosing one. V2RayNG and V2Box are the most popular ones

Here’s the guide I used:

If you get a VPS, I or somebody else could probably set it up for you

Yeah, I’m typing this right now in Guangzhou. It works on my girlfriend’s iphone 11. I read somewhere on Reddit it has to be an unlocked iphone (might be an issue if you’re buying it from Hong Kong).

It’s pretty easy to set up. An email with the qr code will be sent. It should configure itself after scanning. Make sure you have it everything activated or enabled it to roaming before you land in China.

This is my Nomad code if you wanna use NK4579PA.

Do i need to configure something? I copied the vmess config from your telegram and pasted it from the clipboard to V2box it did connect but i couldn’t access to any website

Hi please send direct message if you need support!

Yes, you need to buy (or find) some servers to configure with, the v2ray is only a client, without the servers to help you break GFW, it won’t work.

Go to the settings and click ‘update subscription’ and then ‘relay delay’ and then ‘sort by results’

I did this and it works, the connection is good
