Vpn use for web store in another region

Hey fellow strikers. wanted to get feedback before I tried it. Disclaimer that I am not advocating anyone try this themselves.

Has anyone tried using vpn to access the web store from another location? For regional pricing

The vpn part I know works. But my questions are…

A. What happens for the exchange rate credit card charge wise? Will their payment system figure out what’s needed?

B. Is this a ban worthy offense from scopely?

If you spend enough money, nothing is ban worthy.

Integrity and nature of the game my arse.

From what I recall, the webstore bases your prices off of payment method and not regional. So if you’re using a debit card from a U.S. bank, you’ll get U.S. prices.

Not sure about the in-game store though. I think it’s regional but not based on your connection information but more on your device location? Maybe? Not sure exactly how that works. I don’t believe it is against ToS though. Only way to know really is to try it and see if the in-game prices change and try to make a purchase.

The game store and 3rd party changes with region. When I was in France the in game currency and my Amazon showed prices in Euro.

As a digital nomad can confirm. Unless they Exchange rates magically work out to even numbers all the time

I think it shows the local prices but when you go to pay, it converts those prices to your payment method? Can’t remember exactly. I’ve seen people mention it on here and on Discord.
