When EU and US are offline, it’s generally Oce players online, which is a quite small number.
How could the RoR devs attract more Oce players to fill in the gap when EU and US players are offline.

Probably better ping if i had to imagine
More players in general. You need a critical mass of players until you can get regular scenarios popping within 5 minutes, be able to find groups to play with and experience RvR. If you log into this game and cannot do any of that then players will quit. Back when this server was in its peak it wasn’t a problem, there were even multiple OCE guilds on either faction. You just need players and a lot of what drove that previous peak was content creators making videos about RoR. So either that or any change that aims to bring in more players in general.
In terms of OCE specifically, AU and NZ are small fish even in popular modern games so your best option is appealing to the South East Asian countries aka Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc, which is a significantly bigger player base within that same timezone. Outside of Thailand, the language barrier isn’t a problem because they all play with each other and use English as a universal language to communicate between them. You’d still have to find content creators within those countries/culture to promote it and build communities within it because they wouldn’t have the slightest clue what this game is about.
There’s also the latency issue but that can be alleviated with Mudfish VPN which specifically has an item for the Return of Reckoning server in France, again something that comes with awareness. You’d need OCE guilds to pickup these players and let them know about it.
I started ror years ago and it was a very good new player experience. Had fun jumping into action at low lvl and experiencing huge fights and help from veterans.
I came back last month, tried to lvl a new char , got to 16 and then It fell flat. Open warbands are hard to find (like 1 or 2) when it used to be 5-7 when I played back then and now people have auto kick for low levels…
Also seems like faction balance is terrible. Haven’t seen a single fight. Just a big Zerg going from lord to lord while the other faction is offline probably.
So to answer the question, I d say the community need to work on itself cause it’s actually real bad for new players . I didn’t stick with it this time.
I’ve just started playing RoR as an Aussie. Just hit 40 and really enjoying it so far, but struggling to find an active guild in the time zone. Hard to enjoy the full potential of the game as a solo player.
Chicken and egg problem - need a community to make the game more engaging and create longevity for new players. Need people to play to build a community.
I am from SA, the ping is killing everybody here jajaja.
Im aussie and have played on and off for years. 2 things that stop my friends playing. 1 is the ping, its insanely bad. 2. Its a private server, unfortunately thatd a big turn off for most people
I know, but what if they did something with Mudfish, where they get a free month worth of low ping to try out the game if they connected their twitch or something
Using a VPN like Mudfish can shave off ~130-150ms which makes it a lot more tolerable, but obviously the average Joe isn’t going to really know about that before they play.
i would support anything that brings in more players with a proper ping for them. Love playing with aussies and kiwis
If that’s for real I’ll try Mudfish. And then let the ppl I know play. Because 275-310ms is brutal. Halving that and I’m 100% back
You shouldn’t play with your food, though. It’s bad table manners.
Yeah man mudfish gives me like 230 ping massive diff
According to the test estimation im still expecting 271, is this estamtion usually off?
go through advanced, should tell you a good node to go through
Hmm still can’t find much. What path do you use?
In asia(mumbai-amazon lightsail-Fr Europe- Amazon EC2) connecting to that via Perth WA 246 ping
