I’m making a deck and I would like to proxy some of the more expensive cards until I can afford them
I was just wandering what website would be the most trustworthy and have the best quality. I live in Canada so any websites that don’t ship here won’t really help me. But any recommendations would help and I would appreciate it
Just a heads up on all the people apparently praising printingproxies.com in this thread: They were caught sockpuppeting over multiple accounts to promote and praise their services, so beware.
I’ve used MTG print, printingProxies, and MPCFill, and MPC is by far the best quality cards you can get that I know of, if you don’t mind waiting a couple weeks for shipping and a short, easy setup (instructions included on MPCfill.com). They also have a database of really cool custom art for several cards. I’ve used them for my past several decks, basic lands included!
MTG print is good if you want to get sheets of paper, cut em up and sleeve them in front of a basic land. It’s the quickest solution, but use the above for far superior quality.
MPC Fill is fantastic. I’ve done two orders of 612 cards and it usually costs ~$170 but the cards are excellent quality. From the front they look like real cards and tons of amazing variants on the art to utilize.
MPCFill - A community which makes their own renders of cards hosted on the site with the purpose to order via MakePlayingCards. Lots of high-quality options for cards. Takes a few weeks to arrive (prints in China), and come out great. The cards get as cheap as 20 cents/card. And its all community driven, no money is made from the site.
PrintingProxies - Think of them like an Etsy shop. Lots of options which they stole from wherever they can get with the intention of printing for profit. They are based in the US, so a quick turnaround time. Cards get as cheap as 75 cents/card.
Ron/Bootleg - Makes counterfeits. (ie, 1:1’s made to trick people into thinking they are real). Most expensive option.
Print shops - Probably the cheapest option, but the most complicated to get it to work. You need to source the images in the correct format.
All these will provide decent quality of cards. With Ron probably being the highest, then MPCFill, and then the various Etsy sellers.
Source - I’ve been a community member of MPCFill for a while.
