What’s the best vpn to download *in* China?

I know Letsvpn is recommended often here but it can’t be downloaded through the firewall unfortunately.

My current vpn only works with IOS/MACos devices and I’m looking for one that works with windows.

Thanks in advance

(I’ve tried V1VPN, works well on my phone but won’t work on windows for some reason)

You can’t download the files you need on to your Apple device and then send those to your windows machine?

you can donwload the main proxy apps such as clash, v2ray etc from inside the firewall, and most providers arent blocked as well. Everytime that my internet suddently stops im reminded “oh shit i think i forgot to recharge my vpn” lol, but i just go to the website from inside the firewall and pay using alipay even

Mullvad.

My VPN failed the other day and customer service sent me this very useful message

It is currently recommended that you search online for “梯子” or “科学上网工具” to solve the problem of not being able to use the Internet in China

Shadowsocks is better in terms of speed and stability. You can try wannaflix.net which is accessible in China without VPN.

Just back from China last week. Stayed for 20+ days and subscribed to Mullvad for a month. Connected to an iPad, an iPhone, two Andriod phones, and an android tablet. Connection for me was stable and never broke off. Used it to stream dramas online every night for hours. Sometimes may lag a little, at times wouldn’t load. Just need to change the connection to another country will do.

Be very careful with Letsvpn. They do not make it very clear that they have a download limit and will infact ban your device forever if you go over that limit. Letsvpn is decent for browsing, streaming and ease of use but do not use it for downloading large files.

Check the Googlestore reviews for similar advice. I got banned for downloading a game on steam and they locked my phone and pc from the app.

Astril VPN is expensive comparatively but for me, it is has the fastest downloads. Also, I don’t think there’s a limit to devices.

Astrill has been the best for the past 5 years, lately not as good as before, but still working most of the time.

If you can use every a slow unreliable von just for the download, LetsVPN works amazingly well (arrived 2 days ago and used subscribe… though I am anyway a premium subscriber. Managed to get enough of a slow connection to do a download)

Astrill, they have an alternative website for mainland users

Did that search bring you back to a Mullvad proxy that let you download a patch or something? It’s a nice thought, but unless customer service provided a workable solution, your VPN going down means that it’s probably not a very good option.

I’ve heard Mullvad is very good generally and they have a good business ethos, but I wonder how reliable it is for hopping over the GFW

I got banned by Letsvpn in window what do you use instead of letsvpn? Im currently in china it’s very hard to me to live without .

But for play a game i using UU but the problem is I cant use discord.

Must be some bots or little links downvoting these. Astrill gets my vote. Only time it doesn’t work is during CCP meetings

That being said I’m on iOS so there probably wasn’t any blocking of downloads?

Don’t know why this comment was downvoted :joy: This is absolutely a good option. It’s one of the more expensive services, but with good reason. Very reliable

Who is it up to? The person not using it?

Sorry didn’t explain properly.

I was on LetsVPN and there was a problem with them so they cancelled my account.
I spoke to their customer service through the app and they couldn’t unblock me but they gave me the Chinese to search.

I searched on Bing and got Mullvad through clicking a bunch of results.

I don’t remember exactly how I did it, it was a lot of clicking about.

I use astril vpn. It works for gaming and discord but your ping might not be as good as UU

Astrill is indeed ok, but I would not recommend it to any friend considering they charge per month the annual cost of other VPN that offer more reliable and faster performance.

Yeah, totally.During CCP meetings, no VPN works, I am afraid. Lately, I need to keep switching to different servers for some reason, mostly if use US servers.
