What VPN is Everyone Using?

I haven’t seen a VPN sponsor spot for a while on LTT. What VPN, if any do they endorse?

Alternatively, what VPN’s does the community recommend?

Going for region locked content and online privacy.

They don’t endorse any, anymore. Haven’t done for 1.5 years, according to last weeks WAN show.

Wireguard with a vps

I have used Windscribe for a year, and it works well.

Proton VPN mainly as they had a deal and my backup email is with them

PIA no problems with it ever, does what it says on the tin

I use WireGuard to VPN into my home network to bypass TMobiles anti-net neutrality rules around video content.

Selfhosted wireguard :trophy:

Expressvpn. I don’t see anyone else here saying that. Is there something I don’t know about expressvon?!?! Lol

Mullvad because they don’t even ask an email address, accept crypto for privacy (even Monero) and cash.

They also delete payment info after 40 days and they don’t do bullshit marketing.

No sponsors, no biased reviews and no pricing strategy that push you to buy 1 or more years.

Even if you are not paranoid about privacy, they still deserve the money.
Only problem is that it doesn’t work with streaming services.

IVPN is also very good for privacy, very similar to mullvad but with a higher price.

You want real, actual privacy? As in, you’re doing possibly illegal activities? Mullvad, hands down.

I personally use windscribe. Cheap and fast. I haven’t done a deep dive into their data retention policies, but I just use it for torrenting anyway so i don’t really care

I use Mozilla, it’s just a resold mullvad, but supports Mozilla, so I think it’s worth it

SurfShark. Works perfectly and is extremely cheap

I Personally use Tailscale so I can access my home lab but then also have a single core 1gb vps in azure (abound £8 a month) as an Exit-node. 90% of the time it’s hosted in the US but I can move that VPS around the world inside azure

I use my own, locally hosted VPN. A godsent for bypassing school internet regulations.

I use Express VPN purely because when they had authorities attempt to gather user data and they couldn’t due to Express VPN storing data in RAM. That means the data is there only temporarily and if shut off it’s deleted.

I signed up for Proton Mail last year, which specializes in secure, private email. Then I realized they also have a VPN service included in their premium plan I was on. They also have email aliases.

I have used the VPN to watch Anime. When I was watching it via my ISP it would buffer constantly, but then I used the VPN to connect to Utah or Arizona and no buffering at all.

They seem like a decent company, and I have not had any issues so far.

BUT I do not trust any VPN very much. You are just trusting them not to snoop on your traffic more than your ISP.

I built my own VPN using openVPN and DigitalOcean, it was really easy and I have full control so no need to trust a third party. Would highly recommend.

I’ve been using airvpn a while back, it worked fine.
