I have an older 2009 Mac Pro which has been running PIA v2.5.1 PERFECTLY for a couple years now. Had to reformat the computer this morning and need to find this older version of Private Internet Access to download.
Can somebody please link me to the download for v2.5.1? I can’t find it on their site.
I need this EXACT version because (I think it was) Ruby was making my PIA crash every day or so, and the versions right before and after this one did NOT work, so need this exact v2.5.1 which is stable on my system. Thank you.
Try this:
Log into account on website and go to your account settings. Go to downloads then under "Changelogs and Checksums " click view.
If not, try asking their support.
I ALSO recommended trying 3.1.2, just to check if it will work. 3.2 is buggy.
Hey OP, I crawled through everything that I had, and I can only find v2.3.3, if that is okay with you, you download it here: https://installers.privateinternetaccess.com/download/pia-macos-2.3.3-05381.zip
It’s not on their website that I can find. Skips the entire v2.5.XX line.
I’m running the newest now, but EVERY other version I tried has crashed after a day or two (and I need this running 24/7). Used to be something with Ruby (which honestly I don’t even know what that is… something programming/system-wise or whatever), but just know 2.5.1 has been perfect for me so that’s what I’m looking for.
Thanks, but the earlier ones used Ruby (or something like that) which crashed daily.
Newest rn has issues from my and others experience with Google services.
But if it’s not on the website I would ask PIA, OR I would just use the vanilla OpenVPN and add the PIA config
Yeah, Ruby is a programming language and Mac used to not play nicely with it
PIA wrote me back and gave me a BS answer of “Sadly, we no longer have a link where you can download 2.5.1” …you darn well know they have it in their files…
I’m also glad others are reporting Google issues - that’s been ongoing for years for me… (with all different computers, all different versions of PIA).
