Really weird issue this evening.
My daughter complained that YouTube kids wasn’t working on the iPad when she got home from school. From there noticed that internet wasn’t working on any of our Apple devices (my/my wife’s phone, or the MacBook).
Internet is working fine on Amazon devices (sons fire tablet and fire stick on TV)
Also for some reason turning VPN on on my iPhone makes it connect fine. Turning it off again means no internet.
Have tried resetting router twice but no change.
Any ideas as to what could cause this/how to fix it?
check in the settings if you have a kill switch / only connect to internet if connected to VPN setting
In addition to what /u/Marcellio25 said, I’ve seen VPN clients even without kill switch settings rewrite DNS and then not put it back when you disconnect.
That’s something else to check.
Open the Start menu by pressing the Win key, type Settings, and select Network & Internet from the left panel. Next, click the Properties button next to the network’s name, and the DNS server will be displayed in the window below.

tengo internet para navegar, descargar y ver videos, pero no puedo conectarme a discord, ni alguno otro juego multijugador.
Solo lo puedo hacer mientras uso una VPN :c
Thanks. I use express vpn, which does include ‘network protection’ which is on by default, but it only blocks the internet when the vpn loses connection on a given device.
It doesn’t do anything when the vpn is off, and there’s no vpn at all on the iPad which is the device that this was first detected on.
