Will ProtonVPN Support Singapore IP for Disney+ in the Future?

I attempted to access Disney+ today using a Singapore IP through ProtonVPN, but was unsuccessful. After some research, it appears that Proton does not support streaming D+ with SG IPs, which is frustrating considering my subscription runs till 2026.

What makes the situation even more disappointing is that competitors like Surfshark and NordVPN do support using SG IPs for D+. As the most expensive option, Proton inability to accommodate this is highly unsatisfactory.

It seems foolish to have to subscribe to a separate VPN service solely for the purpose of accessing D+ with a SG IP when I am already paying for Proton.

Has anyone had success in obtaining a refund mid-subscription for scenarios such as this?

Streaming should work from any Plus servers. The singapore catalog however isn’t available:

Do you mean you cannot stream (even the basic catalog) while using SG IPs?

which error do you have ??

Hi, have you resolved your issue ?

if not, can you test your IP and DNS servers while you are on VPN ?

I am having similar issues, and I found out that the DNS server does not match the IP address location

I believe this is the source of the problem

Yes, I can’t stream with SG IPs. I can open the Disney+ SG homepage, but logging in or signing up gives an error. Singapore is a popular location in the Asia-Pacific region, and many VPN providers support streaming from there. Having to consider another VPN service just for this purpose, especially since your company hasn’t updated support for new regions for Disney+ in a long time, is a big disadvantage for convincing people to keep paying for your service.

I wouldn’t say it’s an error, just a lack of service. Besides the two brands I mentioned, I checked out other brands in a similar price range. They’re $1-2 more expensive than Proton but do support streaming services with a Singapore IP.
When I use Proton just for browsing, it’s usually fine. I just didn’t think about needing streaming when I subscribed to Proton.

We don’t have a specific ETA to share for expanding streaming support to the Singapore servers, however, we’re tracking the volume of requests for this and will prioritize providing such support accordingly.

With that in mind, we’ve added your +1 to the request to help with future prioritization.

Strange, because I never had issue with Singapore server with streaming. Maybe the server you selected has been blacklisted by Disney

Please do, I am also having issues connection to Singapore from Australia! Trying to us (MeWatch) and its a no go. its for my partner who is asian. I am Using proton on Nvidia Shield TV and bough a months subscription as a try out… Hopefully something will work for this

MeWatch isn’t a supported streaming service, but we’ve forwarded your request to the team: https://protonvpn.com/support/streaming-guide/
