Head downtown to the historic James River ! You can canoe, kayak, or inner tube down the river. Take your fishing pole or maybe a picnic lunch if your fishing skills aren’t up to par.

Check out Lynchburg’s year-round artificial snow sports slope, the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre . Lynchburg is the only place in the NATION to have year-round snow skiing, tubing or boarding! For those advanced snow dogs, be ready to grind your way down the mountain. No fear..there is also an inexperienced slope and lessons are available! If ice skating is more your speed, check out our indoor ice skating arena, LaHaye Ice Center!
