2 years ago Surfshark was 1# VPN and now it is the worst VPN service you can ever get

I remember maybe a year ago, they changed the kill switch behavior because people don’t read instructions and would complain they wouldn’t have internet when they disabled the VPN, so the kill switch no longer worked as advertised.

They rolled that back right quick thank goodness.

My advice to you if you’re switching to another provider, just tried it or buy it for 1 months and test it out. That’s what I’m doing right now.

I don’t use facebook nor pokemongo so idk

Thank you, I already contacted customer support service and luckily the kindest person ever I met on Support named: Sean, he helped me for a minor issue, as for the app I’m switching to another provider, thanks for everything and sorry if I may sound harsh.

While waiting make sure to cancel auto-renewal if its “on” in the setting.

The only vpn I had no issue with is PIA before it bought by another company, now I’m currently testing protonvpn and after that i will check on mullad.

I currently only need a VPN for my steaming device (Fire TV Stick MAX, 1st gen) AND my Android 13 Samsung phone … as I do NOT have a Windows computer (for now).

Curious if you have any experience with using Surfshark on either FireOS or Android? Pros and Cons?

I used to use “WeVPN” before they crashed and burned, but was quite happy with them until then. They made a deal with “Windscribe VPN” to pick up the rest of our (paid) subscriptions for free (obviously, in hopes of retaining us as paid subscribers when current one ends).

Mine lasts until end of ‘February, 2024’ … but I don’t like them very much (mainly because I typically get slowed down to about ¼ speed … from 120 Mbps to 25-35 Mbps, which may be a factor in my frequent buffering on certain apps).

I thought it might pay to signup (early) for SS’s ‘BF’ deal ("$1.99/mo. for Two Year ‘basic’ … actually 24 + 3 months), if their normal rates are much higher come March?? I live on fixed income, so I can afford to spend VERY LITTLE for monthly expenditures!

However, if SS won’t provide me better SPEED or if there are too many ‘major’ issues in functionality … it wouldn’t be worth it, would it? But I don’t really know of any other quality VPN’s at a similar price!

*So, do you think SS might be ‘good enough’ for my poor ass? (lol!) and their price would be significantly higher in March?

Also, I noticed their quoted BF price days, “+ tax.” Do you know what percentage tax is tacked on? I asked ‘Alexa’ and she says the VAT tax in the British Virgin Islands is 19%!!! … which if applied, makes the deal not nearly as great. Do you recall what your rate is??

Sorry for the wordiness! TIA!

I sub for 1 month of ExpressVPN, Many ppl recommend ProtonVPN, do you really recommend it for me? ExpressVPN has been far superior with 0 issues.

Nord Security, sorry this was last year.

Do you use privacy.com for your managed/temp cards? I’d love to find a good alternative to privacy.com that doesn’t use plaid.

A redditor recommended Revolut to me. I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks good.

I could not agree more!

I’m on the board of directors, cmo of the company. I code for them too.

I do not trust that malware company that has been buying up VPN providers.

If you like ExpressVPN, I’d say you could stick with it. I think for a full plan, Proton is cheaper than ExpressVPN. Proton does have a free version, with some servers in US, Japan, & Netherlands if you wanted to test it. I like their mobile and desktop apps.
