Anyone in the CPB outside of the US?

Hello,

My account is based in US, it was created there by a person who lives in the states but I am using it and I live in Europe. I only upload videos from my phone but I am using VPN every time I upload. So from TikTok’s perspective I am uploading from the US. The thing is that the IP that the VPN gives me are dynamic, which means it is not the same IP every time, it is located in the US, but it is different every time I upload. Do you think I might have issue when I will be applying to the CPB?

Also, anybody who is outside of the US and using VPN, can you provide some other practices that might be good to follow?

Is VPN working for you? My views get limited when I use it, regardless of retention.

I’m from the UK, i have a USA account don’t need a vpn to upload.

I would love to know the answer too - I’m American, but I’m staying in Canada for several months, and I’m hesitant to apply to the CPB because I wasn’t sure if TikTok would pay out if they see that I’m uploading from Canada. I have an American SSN, bank account, address etc, so that should be all good… I just don’t know to what extent they track the country that the account uploads from and compares that to the tax info for paying creators.

Are you speaking from experience? Do you have an account that is approved for CPB from outside the US without using VPN? Sorry for the questions but I just do not want to get disqualified for security issue, I’ve made a lot of efforts for the account.

Is your account based in the USA? Did you have any issues with views such as many of them coming from the UK and not USA? Did you have issues with applying to the CPB?

You can upload from Canada. TikTok doesnt really care about where you upload from. From TikTok perspective only thing they are looking for is the account to be created in one of the eligible countries so you can apply to the program. Now after you apply, you will need SSN or EID. After that they will pay you the money through PayPal. TikTok don’t care about taxes etc. PayPal, however, need to report everything to the tax authorities in the country the PayPal was created, therefore you need to pay taxes in the PayPal country. If the amount generated for a year or something is above 10000$ you need to have LLC and pay taxes (this is in my country).

  • I have an American LLC. That means i can fill out the tax form with my LLC info.

I actually have a legitimate SSN because I have worked in the USA for about 6 months. I think I will be able to pass the CPB requirements from TikTok with the Social Security number but I am not sure if this is okay, since I will be using a European PayPal and would like to be paid there. I reckon I will just have to pay taxes in the PayPal country?

Yes, you will pass the CPB requirements with TikTok. I’m not sure about tax though. My LLC doesn’t pay tax until 2025 cus i made it this year.

I use a UK PayPal it should work. If it doesn’t work you can make an American Bank Account since you have an SSN.
