It seems like a lot of VPNs you use with the iPhone requires their own app (PIA) or OpenVPN (ra4w, etc.).
Does anyone know of a good VPN that allows it to integrate right in the native IOS vpn settings? Thanks!
I reckon that one by Opera does. Installs a profile in your settings
Are you limited to VPN services like the examples listed or would you be willing to setup your own? There are some good StrongSwan walk-throughs that show you how to setup an L2TP VPN. They’re not the most secure, but pretty good against all but serious corporate or state threats. If you want to go more secure, you can run your own OpenVPN server and use the app to install the profile.
If you just look for a VPN provider that has an L2TP option, that should suffice. For example, I checked PrivacyTools.io for some VPNs and in the “NordVPN” features list, it states “OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP, IPSec protocols” are supported.
They even posted a comprehensive walkthrough.
For PIA, you aren’t required to use the app. I have it installed on mine but you can go in to vpn setting and enable it. Fairly sure you can also straight set it up from there without ever having the app.
I asked PIA and they said I can’t do this…I have to use their PIA app.
That stinks. Any reason you’re averse to using apps? They seem to hold connection better than using the built in thing. Especially when you lock and unlock your phone.
Oh does it? I jailbroke my phone and none of the flip switches work with the VPN button since it’s with 3rd party apps (I assume)…so I wanted to try out the native iPhone VPN.
Also, PIA is so well known some big sites and apps I use (craigslist, etc.) block it…which is annoying. 
That’s fairly easy to get around. Just switch your location. There’s always a range Craigslist doesn’t block. Allowing you to get your freaky anonymous sex on
