I’m sorry, I am a stroke victim and my understanding is low. We share expenses, if he has a VPN can he use stuff like Hulu that isn’t supposed to be available in Argentina?
Other apps or programs that won’t work in the United States. We try to help one another as much as we can. Will they be available?
Yes, but I would recommend running it at home using a computer. Big VPN providers will probably be detected by Hulu, when you run from home your father will appear to Hulu like he’s in your house
Agree with other posters, a dual-router self-hosted VPN is the best answer if you have decent internet. Several streaming services will not work over a commercial VPN.
Using straight Wireguard is the best answer if you don’t have port-forwarding restrictions. While Tailscale is great, it has a high MTU overhead that can cause other issues (especially if you’re trying to “nest” another vpn inside your personal tunnel). If you do have NAT or port-fowarding issues then Tailscale or ZeroTier are the next best bet.
What can I read to understand this? I’ve had 3 strokes in the last year and that is messing with me some. But I’m a pretty smart guy and can handle the steps if I know what I’m looking at. This will sound stupid, does that mean he needs to have it at the neighbors?
He uses their Wi-Fi and my logins for pretty much all things possible. He’s an old guy that doesn’t get around much. Most of these streaming services are cracking down.
Speak to me like someone that wouldn’t understand jargon.
Ty all. I really appreciate the willingness. He won’t be able to get through that I don’t believe. lol. Maybe I’ll just get him a second Netflix for himself and he will have to be good with that.
I really appreciate the willingness though. Most people speak to me like I’m slow, I’m not. Before the strokes I had so many interests and hobbies. I’m gonna keep reading and see if I can break this down in a way that I can get him to apply.
It will be serious mental work for my brain and that’s what I need. Any of you folks find yourselves in this situation don’t listen to the doctors. Use that brain as much as possible!!
Absolutely! Good luck to a fantastic recovery. We’re rooting for you!
